Lewis and Harris

Starting in Ullapool you will sail across the Minch to Stornoway with a sailing time of around 2 hrs 40 mins, giving you time to relax and take in the stunning sea views.

On arrival in Stornoway, immerse yourself in the unique culture and heritage of the Outer Hebrides. Explore the town’s charming shops, where you’ll find unique local crafts, then step into Hebridean history at Museum nan Eilean situated within the scenic grounds of Lews Castle grounds.

Next, begin your journey by exploring the mysterious Callanish Standing Stones, followed by the charming Gearrannan Blackhouse Village to see how islanders once lived. Don’t miss the stunning beaches in Uig, where soft sands and clear waters provide the perfect peaceful escape. And, after a day of exploring, indulge in the island’s rich flavours, with freshly caught seafood and the famous Stornoway black pudding, at cosy cafés and restaurants.

Travelling south, the Isle of Harris boasts breathtaking landscapes that are just waiting to be explored. Start by unwinding on the world renowned Luskentyre Beach, where pristine white sands and crystal clear waters meet dramatic mountain backdrops. From there explore local art galleries and craft shops showcasing the island’s famous Harris Tweed. End your day with a taste of Harris, from hand-dived scallops to locally distilled Isle of Harris Gin, as you soak in the island’s peaceful atmosphere.

Skye and beyond

Leaving the Outer Hebrides, you will take the ferry from Tarbert to Uig on the Isle of Skye, where you’ll spend your final night exploring its dramatic landscapes. Discover Skye’s natural wonders, including the towering Old Man of Storr, the mystical Fairy Pools, and the Quiraing. You can also dive into the island’s rich history at Dunvegan Castle, home to the Clan MacLeod. Visit Portree, Skye’s lively main town, exploring its colourful harbour, experience warm Scottish hospitality, and take in stunning coastal views.

Return to the mainland by ferry from Armadale to Mallaig or drive over the Skye Bridge to Kyle of Lochalsh. If starting from Mallaig or Kyle, simply follow the route in reverse.
