The Royal Hotel – Stornoway’s most historic hotel
The aim of the Royal Hotel is to always offer the warm hospitality for which our local people are known. You will see this in the way you are welcomed and looked after you throughout your entire stay in Stornoway. The greatest strengths are in all of the staff, all committed to working hard to provide a truly enjoyable visit to Stornoway. Only a hundred yards or so from Stornoway town centre, this historic hotel overlooks the marina and the green spaces of Lews Castle and it’s grounds. Here you will find the Museum nan Eilean which is well worth a visit during your stay. There is a small residents’ car park at the rear and on-street parking at the front of the hotel.
Accommodation
Harbour view rooms as used as the preferred accommodation for Hebridean Hopscotch guests. Rooms are fitted with quality beds and fabrics and there are luxury toiletries provided in the en-suite. Sizes of ensuites vary from ‘compact’ to ‘large’ – so please discuss this when booking if this is important to you. Every bedroom has work and storage space, plus free wi-fi throughout the hotel.
Food and Drink
The Royal Hotel enjoys a great reputation for its friendly, hospitable staff, excellent food and service. For lunch or evening meals there are two options, the Boatshed, a stylish, modern restaurant and HS-1 cafe-bar, a more casual cafe style eaterie. Both are popular with local residents (always a good sign!) and offer you a wide choice. You’ll find creative dishes using fresh produce in season, quality meats and local seafood.
